How we make your period custom garment.

Creating a custom made to measure garment is a process that requires at the outset an accurate and complete set of measurements, this is not as daunting as it may sound,no matter if you chose to have them taken by a friend a seamstress a tailor or by us at our Atelier or one of the many shows, events or exhibitions we attend throughout the year,we use the same diagrams and instructions.

From this information our pattern maker /seamstress will produce the paper pattern unique to each customers order.

The pattern is then passed onto the cutter who will cut the garment from the material chosen by the customer ,we only work with materials sourced from renowned suppliers, including Fox brothers UK,Marton mills, Talbot brothers for Ventile, wax and dry cotton from Halley Stevensons in Scotland or Templemoyle in Ireland, our leather is sourced from the best tanneries here in France including Degermann,Haas,or Boudin Joyeaux, all of these companies have worldwide reputations for excellence.Hardware is sourced from top manufactures, zippers from YKK’s heritage collection, buckles and brassware from Poursin in Paris, buttons from top French and Italian makers.

After cutting and inspection the garment is then assembled by one of our experienced machinists, one person will assemble all of the elements that make up the garment,we have chosen this solution to ensure that the total quality concept is adhered to throughout.

After assembly the garment is then transferred to the finishing shop where it is inspected and any hardware added, pressing, finishing and preparation for despatch.
